| Obverse description | The left third of the note is occupied by a finely engraved vignette of the municipal coat of arms of Baix Montseny — a quartered shield surmounted by a mural crown with towers, flanked by laurel branches and supported by a scroll cartouche with the legend AJUNTAMENT DE BAIX MONTSENY. The right portion carries the bearer text and the large-format face value DEU CENTIMS in bold display type against a pink floral guilloche underprint. Three manuscript signatures appear below, attributed to L'Alcalde, El Conceller de Finances, and El Dipositari, with the date of the authorising council session noted in cursive script. |

Baix Montseny is a small municipality in the Vallès Oriental comarca, northeast of Barcelona. Like hundreds of Catalan and Republican-controlled towns during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional currency in 1937 to compensate for the near-total disappearance of coins from circulation — hoarded by the public and stripped out by competing wartime demands on metal. The Consell Municipal de la Generalitat had authorized local emergency issues, which is why so many of these tiny notes share printers and formats across the region.
Tipografia El Secretariat Català printed a significant portion of Barcelona's municipal emergency issues, making attribution straightforward for specialists even when issuer imprints are faint or worn.
