Obverse description The crowned royal monogram of King Léopold II occupies the central field, flanked by the central perforation below. The circular legend in French reads ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE, with the date appearing in small numerals at the bottom of the field. A beaded border frames the entire design. The composition is characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic employed on Belgian coinage of this period.

Reverse description The denomination 10 C.ES (dix centimes) is boldly rendered in large raised numerals to the right of the central circular perforation. An elegantly detailed olive branch sweeps diagonally across the left field, its naturalistic leaves rendered in fine relief in the Art Nouveau style. The engraver's signature A. MICHAUX appears in small incuse lettering along the lower field near the base. A beaded border encircles the entire reverse design.
