| Obverse description | Plain, unadorned field displaying the denomination in two lines at center: the numeral '10' above 'CENTS' in large, bold raised lettering. The central device is enclosed within a continuous inner beaded circle, separating it from the outer legend. The circular legend 'EMPIRE FRANCAIS' runs along the periphery between the beaded border and the milled rim, with a six-pointed star ornament positioned at both the top and bottom of the legend as separators.
