| Obverse description | Truncated bust of King Vittorio Emanuele III in left profile, depicted in military uniform with epaulettes bearing stars, his short hair and characteristic small moustache rendered in fine sculptural detail. The effigy occupies the central field with bold, high relief typical of early 20th-century Italian coinage. The circular legend reads VITTORIO · EMANUELE · III · RE · D'ITALIA, distributed around the upper and right periphery, with raised lettering against a smooth field. The portrait is attributed to sculptor Pietro Canonica and engraved by Luigi Giorgi, whose initials appear discreetly on the coin. |
