The Territory of Tepic was a short-lived federal entity carved out of Jalisco in 1884 and reintegrated into what became Nayarit in 1917. Its revolutionary-period scrip from 1915 belongs to the chaotic proliferation of local emergency currency that flooded Mexico during the Constitutionalist struggle — a period when municipal governments, military commanders, haciendas, and commercial houses all issued their own paper simply to keep commerce moving in the absence of trusted national currency.
The S-prefix Pick listing signals this is catalogued among Mexican revolutionary issues, a category notorious for survival rates that vary wildly depending on whether the issuing authority redeemed or simply abandoned the paper.
