Obverse description The Peruvian national arms at center, comprising a quartered shield displaying a vicuña, a cinchona tree, and a cornucopia, flanked by a palm branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon. Reverse description At center, the historic arms of the Lima Mint depicted within an inner circle: three crowned towers representing the Pillars of Hercules motif, accompanied by the motto 'PLUS ULTRA' inscribed across the design, with waves below and the assay mark '8' visible at the base of the central tower. The founding and commemorative dates '1565' and '1965' flank the central device within the inner circle. The outer legend reads 'CUADRICENTENARIO DE LA FUNDACION DE LA CASA DE MONEDA LIMA', commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Lima Mint.
