| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in reddish-brown on cream paper and carries a decorative border with ornamental corner pieces. At the top, the legend 'TEN CENTAVOS' appears within a ruled panel, below which the text identifies this as an 'EMERGENCY CIRCULATING NOTE OF 1942 issued by Authority of the President of the Philippines on January 20, 1942.' The central inscription reads 'The Commonwealth of the Philippines WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND TEN CENTAVOS IN LAWFUL CURRENCY OF THE PHILIPPINES Negros Occidental Provincial Currency Committee,' flanked by the denomination '10¢' in each corner and vertical series and city-of-issue inscriptions along the left and right margins; the lower portion carries three signature lines for the Provincial Treasurer, Acting Provincial Auditor, and Provincial Fiscal, with a manuscript countersignature 'For the Committee.' |
