| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupies the central field, depicting a left-facing Mexican golden eagle with wings displayed, perched upon a nopal cactus growing from a rocky islet surrounded by water, devouring a serpent in its beak and talons. The ensemble is embellished below by a laurel and oak wreath tied with a ribbon. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters. The design is framed by a toothed border running along the inner rim. |
