| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of El Salvador occupies the central field, depicting a triangular shield surmounted by a radiant Liberty cap, flanked by five national flags and supported by laurel and palm branches tied at the base. The shield bears a volcanic landscape within a horizontal-striped field. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs along the upper periphery, while the silver fineness 835, mint mark C.A.M., and date 1892 appear in the lower exergue. The entire design is bordered by a fine dentilated rim. |
