| Obverse description | At centre, a finely detailed Irish timpán (a traditional stringed instrument) depicted in an upright position, its decorative curved body and horizontal crossbar rendered in high relief. The central motif is flanked by an open laurel wreath whose branches extend along the lower half of the field and meet below the instrument, with the date 2005 inscribed in the exergue.
