| Obverse description | Cast brass cash coin of large module, featuring a central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform reading order. The reign title legend 永曆通寶 (Yongli Tongbao) is disposed with 永 (Yong) at top, 曆 (Li) at bottom, 通 (Tong) at right, and 寶 (Bao) at left. The characters are bold and deeply cast within a broad, flat inner rim, surrounded by a wide raised outer rim. The field surface exhibits the characteristic granular texture of period casting, with no additional decorative elements. |

| Obverse lettering | 永 通 寶 曆 (Translation: Yong Li Tong Bao Yongli (Emperor) / Universal currency) |
| Reverse description | Plain reverse field centered on the square central hole, bearing two large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu): 壹 (Yi, meaning 'one') above the hole and 分 (Fen) below, together denoting a denomination equivalent to one fen of silver. The characters are boldly cast and well-defined, occupying most of the available field. A wide, flat raised outer rim frames the reverse, consistent with the heavy-module fabric of this Southern Ming emergency issue. The field surface is unadorned apart from the denomination inscription. |
