Reverse description The reverse displays a bilingual inscription arranged around the central square hole, following the standard convention for Qing dynasty official cash coinage. A single Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'equal to' or 'worth') appears above the hole and 十 (Shi, meaning 'ten') appears below, together indicating a denomination of ten cash. Flanking the hole to the left and right are two Manchu script characters reading 'Boo-jyi' (寶直), identifying the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. All characters are cast in raised relief against a plain, flat field within a plain raised border.
