| Reverse description | Cast iron cash coin with a central square perforation. The reverse bears four characters arranged in cruciform order around the hole: 當 (top, meaning 'equivalent to') and 十 (bottom, meaning 'ten'), flanked by Manchu script mint name 'Boo-gi' (left and right), identifying this as the Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing. The Manchu characters are rendered in the cursive style typical of Qing-era cash coinage, while the Chinese numerals and value indicators are in standard regular script. The field is flat and unadorned, with a plain raised rim and the rough surface characteristic of iron casting from this period. |
