Obverse description Large cast brass coin featuring a central square perforation flanked by four bold Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), arranged in a cruciform reading order: top (天), right (通), bottom (啓), left (寶), together forming the reign title inscription 天啓通寶 (Tianqi Tongbao). The characters are deeply and cleanly cast in raised relief against a flat field, with broad, well-defined strokes characteristic of late Ming dynasty coinage. The coin is bounded by a plain raised rim of substantial width, consistent with a 10-cash denomination. No mint mark or additional inscription appears in the field.
