Obverse description Central field displays four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cruciform pattern reading top to bottom and right to left, flanked by Manchu script characters at centre. The reign title of the Guangxu Emperor is prominently featured within the central arrangement. A surrounding circular border of Chinese ideograms forms the peripheral legend, indicating the province of manufacture, the regnal year, the denomination, and the mint designation. The design is contained within a plain beaded border, consistent with machine-struck provincial cash coinage of the late Qing period.
