| Additional information |
Kiangsi's copper cash issues of this period are notable for the provincial infighting over mint authority that plagued the Qing monetary reform effort. The Board of Revenue's 1905 order to consolidate provincial minting was largely ignored for years, and Kiangsi continued striking its own types well into the consolidation period. The mountain device distinguishing this variety from related Kiangsi issues reflects local adaptation rather than central directive — a small act of numismatic provincialism in a system actively trying to standardize itself.
