Obverse description At centre, two Manchu script characters (Boo-chang, denoting the Nanchang mint) are flanked by additional Manchu characters on either side. Surrounding these central elements are four Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom and right to left, forming the reign title and denomination inscriptions. The outer legend comprises further Chinese characters denoting the province of issue, the monetary standard (Ku-Ping), and the value (Ten Cash). The overall layout follows the traditional imperial cash coin convention, with the central script elements framed concentrically by the outer Chinese legend.
