| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese characters reading 光緒元寶 (Guangxu Yuanbao, 'Guangxu Precious Currency') arranged vertically, flanked by a decorative floral rosette at centre. The upper arc of an inner beaded circle carries the two-character legend 江西省造 (Jiangxi Province Made), while Manchu script reading Boo-yuan appears to the left and right of the central inscription. The denomination 當十 (equivalent to ten) is inscribed at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous beaded border, with a further outer denticulated rim. |
