| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged vertically, flanked by Manchu script characters at centre, the whole surrounded by a circular band of additional Chinese ideograms forming the mint and denomination legend. The inscription identifies the Fukien Mint, the Guangxu Emperor's reign title, and the denomination of ten cash. A beaded inner border separates the central legends from the outer ring of characters. The overall layout follows the traditional format of late Qing provincial machine-struck cash coinage. |
