Reverse description A coiled five-clawed dragon occupies the central field, depicted in profile with head raised and clutching a flaming pearl at centre; floral rosette devices appear to the left and right within the inner beaded border. The English legend 'HU-NAN' arcs across the upper portion and 'TEN CASH' across the lower portion of the coin, separated by the dragon motif. The reverse is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and a reeded outer rim. Variety differences include the presence or absence of a ring around the pearl and whether the centres of the petal devices are depressed or plain.
