Reverse description Central field displays the crowned DAC monogram (standing for Dansk Asiatisk Compagni — the Danish Asiatic Company), surmounted by a small royal crown. Below the monogram, the denomination and date are inscribed in two lines, reading X. KAS and Ao 1770 respectively. The lettering is in a plain serif style, typical of Danish colonial copper issues struck for Tranquebar. The flan is irregular and slightly polygonal, consistent with hand-struck production.
