Obverse description Two crossed flags of the Republic of China occupy the central field, flanked on either side by a floral rosette motif. A four-character Chinese legend arches above the design and a four-character commemorative inscription appears below, reading collectively as 'Republic of China Founding Commemorative Coin.' The overall composition is executed in a flat relief style characteristic of early Republican-era Chinese copper cash coinage.
