The Oberthur-printed 10 Bolivianos series ran across nearly a decade, with Series F, G, and H issued in successive tranches between 2001 and 2009 — a longer active lifespan than most notes in the Boliviano family. At 12.175 million pieces across three series, production was modest, reflecting Bolivia's heavy reliance on coins for low-denomination transactions during this period.
The security package — watermark and thread only — was considered thin even at the time of issue, and the Banco Central subsequently upgraded specifications for later emissions.
