Reverse description The reverse displays a bold cross of the Military Order of Christ (Cruz da Ordem de Cristo), with equal arms terminating in squared ends, dominating the entire field. The date '17-70' is split and positioned below the horizontal arms of the cross, flanking its vertical stem. The cross is rendered in deep relief consistent with the cast production method, with a granular surface texture visible throughout the field. A plain raised rim encircles the design, characteristic of Goa mint cast copper issues of the late eighteenth century.
