Obverse description The Panamanian national coat of arms is centrally depicted, featuring a quartered shield bearing symbols of national sovereignty — crossed swords and rifle in the upper quarters, a cornucopia and winged wheel in the lower quarters, with a depiction of the Isthmus of Panama across the centre. The shield is flanked by two supporters: a fasces with rifle and a crossed sword with a shovel, surmounted by a harpy eagle with outstretched wings above a scroll inscribed PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO. Nine five-pointed stars arc above the eagle along the upper field. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE PANAMA runs along the left and upper periphery, while the denomination 10 BALBOAS appears along the lower border, separated by ornamental dots. The mint mark CHI appears in the lower field to the left of the shield base.
