| Additional information |
This coin marks the centenary of the death of King Chulalongkorn — Rama V — who died in 1910 after a 42-year reign that abolished slavery in Thailand and deflected serious colonial pressure from both Britain and France through careful diplomatic maneuvering. The commemorative was issued under Rama IX, Bhumibol Adulyadej, whose own reign by 2003 had already surpassed his great-great-predecessor's in length.
Y#409 is frequently confused with the standard circulation bimetallic 10 Baht by casual collectors; the distinction lies entirely in the reverse design, not the physical format.
