Obverse description Effigy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) depicted in left-facing profile bust, wearing eyeglasses and a suit, rendered in high relief within the aluminium bronze centre. The king's portrait occupies the majority of the inner disc, with a plain field surrounding the bust. The Thai legend identifying the monarch is inscribed along the outer copper-nickel ring, running from lower left to lower right.
