| Obverse description | The Portuguese Republican coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting the escutcheon with the traditional arrangement of five inescutcheons charged with bezants in saltire, surrounded by the red bordure with seven castles, all set within an ornate rectangular cartouche. The circular legend reads REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA to the upper left and MACAU to the upper right, separated by five-pointed stars at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions.
