Rwanda's lunar-themed bullion issues are struck under contract by foreign mints — almost certainly B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt in Munich, which has produced the majority of Rwanda's gold program since its inception. At 0.155 g, this is among the smallest gold coins in regular commercial production anywhere in the world, a format pioneered partly to bring legal-tender gold within reach of fractional investors priced out of the standard 1/10 oz market.
The Ox year ran from January 2021 through January 2022.
