Piedforts are struck at double the standard planchet thickness — this piece inverts that convention entirely, compressing the format down to 0.311 g of .999 gold at 8 mm across, making it among the smallest piedfort issues produced by any mint in recent memory. The diamond inset, a single 0.003 ct stone, is more symbolic gesture than gemological statement.
