Obverse description Helmeted head of Ares facing right, rendered in low relief in the Hellenistic provincial style. The helmet, of Corinthian or Attic type, is visible above the brow and cheek, with surface detail partially obscured by heavy patination and encrustation. The field is plain, with no visible legend or border. The flan is irregular, as characteristic of hammered bronze issues of this period and region.
