Obverse description The obverse features the Polish state eagle with spread wings, displayed centrally in the field, rendered in the socialist realist style of the Polish People's Republic. The eagle faces right with a plain head, without a crown, conforming to the communist-era heraldic convention. The date 1987 is inscribed in two parts flanking the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '87' to the right. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' runs along the upper periphery, and the denomination '10000' is prominently inscribed in large numerals across the lower portion of the field, flanked by the 'ZŁ' currency abbreviation on each side. The mintmark 'MW' (Mennica Warszawska) appears incorporated within the date.
