| Obverse description | The obverse features the Polish state eagle with spread wings, displayed centrally in the field, rendered in the socialist realist style of the Polish People's Republic. The eagle faces right with a plain head, without a crown, conforming to the communist-era heraldic convention. The date 1987 is inscribed in two parts flanking the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '87' to the right.
