Obverse description The obverse features the crowned Polish eagle with wings spread, rendered in bold relief at the center of the field, its head turned to the right in the traditional heraldic pose. The date 1988 is divided on either side of the eagle's body, with the mint mark MW incorporated below. The denomination 10000 ZŁ appears in large numerals along the lower portion of the field, flanked by the złoty abbreviation symbols. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery, and the design reflects the standard state emblem style of the People's Republic of Poland.
