| Obverse description | Central design features a finely detailed high-relief rendering of the Temple of Heaven (Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests) in Beijing, set upon its characteristic triple-tiered marble terrace, framed within an ornate scrolling vine border. The bold Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs around the upper periphery in large characters. A secondary inscription in Chinese around the lower field reads 熊猫金币发行十周年纪念 (Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Issue of Panda Gold Coins), with the date 1991 appearing in the exergue below the central motif. Decorative floral rosette ornaments appear at the left and right sides of the inner border. The mirrored proof fields provide strong contrast to the frosted design elements. |

| Reverse description | The central medallion of the reverse features a frosted high-relief giant panda clinging to and feeding on bamboo stalks, rendered in naturalistic detail against a mirror-polished field, with the denomination 10000元 inscribed to the upper right and a technical inscription 本币重5000克 成色.999.5 g AU below the central image. Surrounding the central panda motif, arranged in a floral wreath pattern around the periphery, are twelve raised cameo reproductions of the obverse and reverse designs from each of the ten annual issues of the Chinese Panda gold coin series (1982–1991), faithfully replicating their respective panda vignettes and denominations at reduced scale. The overall composition celebrates the decade of Panda coinage, with each surrounding coin replica separated by the polished gold ground. The legend and technical specifications are inscribed in Chinese characters within the lower portion of the central circle. |
