| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion of Gyeongbok Palace, rendered in fine detail with its characteristic two-tiered tiled roof, colonnaded lower storey, and stone-pillared foundation reflected in water below. Seven birds in flight are depicted above the pavilion in the upper field. A Hangul legend arcs along the upper periphery reading '제24회 올림픽대회 유치기념' (Commemorating the hosting of the 24th Olympic Games), while the lower field bears the inscriptions '한국은행' (Bank of Korea) at left and '만원' (10,000 Won) at right. |
