| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized hibiscus flower (Mugunghwa, the national flower of Korea) flanked symmetrically by two facing phoenixes rendered in high relief, their elaborate plumage extending downward toward the lower field. Above the central motif appears the emblem of the Republic of Korea surmounted by the date in dual calendar format '4303 - 1970' along the upper rim. The denomination '10.000 원 WON' is inscribed in the lower central field in both Hangul numerals and Latin script, with the issuer name '한국은행' (Bank of Korea) rendered in large Hangul characters along the lower arc. |
