| Reverse description | A large, high-relief facing effigy of Chinggis Khan dominates the central field, depicting the Great Khan as a bearded, mature man wearing a traditional Mongolian helmet or headcovering and a hoop earring, his expression rendered with dignified solemnity. To the right of the portrait, a vertical column of traditional Mongolian script appears in the field. The dates '1162' and '1227', denoting the Khan's birth and death years, flank the lower portion of the portrait at left and right respectively.
