Obverse description Portrait of King George V in an oval vignette at upper right, set against an intricate guilloche underprint in blue-green tones. The denomination is rendered in English at centre, with Arabic and Indian script inscriptions below, and the date and place of issue — Mombasa, 15th December 1921 — appearing at lower centre beneath a legal tender clause. Two signature panels for Members of the East African Currency Board appear at lower right.
