The mid-1970s were a period of rapid monetary expansion in Indonesia, driven by oil revenues following the first OPEC price shock. Bank Indonesia leaned heavily on Thomas De La Rue for high-denomination production during this period, a relationship that stretched back to the early independence years and reflected persistent domestic capacity constraints at Peruri, the state printing works in Jakarta.
P#114A is known to exist with a signature variety that distinguishes earlier from later print runs within the same year — worth checking against the signature table before cataloging as a single undifferentiated type.
