The "new bank seal" designation in the Pick catalog distinguishes this from the earlier P#442 emission, which carried an older version of the Banco de la República's institutional seal — a change made as part of the bank's broader graphic identity update in the late 1990s. The note was produced by both De La Rue in London and the Banco's own Imprenta de Billetes in Bogotá, a dual-sourcing arrangement the Colombian central bank has maintained for decades to manage print volume and reduce foreign currency expenditure on production contracts.

At 12,175,000 printed across a fifteen-year window, the run is relatively modest for a workhorse denomination in a high-inflation economy.
