| Obverse description | The obverse features the Colombian national coat of arms at center, depicting an eagle with spread wings supporting a shield charged with a condor, a Phrygian cap, and a cornucopia, with a ribbon bearing the motto 'SC IUDA AD ASTRA' below. The mint mark of the Casa de Moneda de Colombia appears to the left of the arms in the field. The circular legend 'REPÚBLICA DE COLOMBIA' arcs along the upper periphery, with the date '2019' to the right of the arms. The denomination '10.000 PESOS' is inscribed in large characters across the lower field. The design is struck against a deeply mirrored proof-like background with a beaded border. |

Colombia's Fuerza Aérea Colombiana traces its formal founding to 1919, when the government contracted a German mission — the Sociedad Colombo-Alemana de Transportes Aéreos, better known as SCADTA — making it one of the earliest commercial and military aviation programs in Latin America. The centennial issue in 2019 marked exactly a hundred years from that arrangement, which predated the air forces of several larger neighboring nations.
The KM#302 attribution places this among the commemorative high-denomination circulation pieces the Banco de la República issued sporadically through the 2010s. At 21.75 g in copper-nickel, it is substantially heavier than the standard circulating 1000-peso coin of the same era.
