| Obverse description | A large, finely detailed Chinese junk under full sail occupies the central field, depicted in three-quarter view with its characteristic battened sails prominently rendered. The vessel is enclosed within a raised inner circle, with four ornamental cross devices (Portuguese Maltese-style crosses) positioned at the cardinal points around the inner border. The legend MACAU arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while the denomination 10.000 PATACAS is inscribed along the lower arc within the border, all in bold raised lettering. The overall design is executed in high-relief proof style against a mirror-polished field. |
