Mozambique's football association had genuine World Cup fervor in 1994 despite the national team's absence from the tournament — the country had only recently emerged from a sixteen-year civil war that ended in 1992, and the peace was barely two years old when this pattern was produced. Patterns of this type were struck for presentation and approval purposes and never entered circulation, which explains the KM# Pn designation.
