| Obverse description | The crowned heart-shaped coat of arms of San Marino occupies the central field, depicting three towers atop a stylized triple-peaked mountain with diagonal hatching. The shield is surmounted by a mural crown and flanked by an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right, symbolizing peace and strength. A ribbon scroll below the shield bears the national motto LIBERTAS in relief. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO arcs along the upper periphery, separated by a small cross at the apex. The date 1999 and the engraver's signature BINO BINI appear in the lower field beneath the arms. |
