| Obverse description | The obverse features the arms of San Marino centrally placed: a heart-shaped shield bearing three towers atop three mountain peaks, surmounted by a mural crown, and flanked by oak and laurel branches tied at the base by a ribbon inscribed LIBERTAS. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1998 and the engraver's name BINO BINI inscribed in the lower field.
