| Obverse description | A finely detailed scallop shell occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with carefully engraved ribbing and a naturalistic form evoking the iconography of Venus rising from the sea. The shell is framed by a broad, recessed inner field, beyond which an ornate border of continuous spiral and scroll motifs encircles the entire design. The upper arc bears the legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN, while the lower arc carries the denomination 10 000 FRANCS CFA and the fineness and weight specification AG 999 1 KG, with the date 2023 inscribed below the shell in the exergue area. |

| Reverse description | A richly detailed high-relief adaptation of William-Adolphe Bouguereau's celebrated 1879 Academic painting 'The Birth of Venus' fills the entire reverse field. The goddess Venus stands at centre in a contrapposto pose, her long flowing hair draped over one raised arm, emerging triumphant from the sea upon a large scallop shell. She is surrounded by a retinue of marine deities, nereids, tritons, and putti; to her left a bearded sea god reclines, while to her right a triton blows a conch shell and attending female figures gesture adoringly. Multiple winged cupids or amorini cavort in the upper field and foreground. The legend THE BIRTH OF VENUS is inscribed in relief along the upper left arc of the field. |
