Reverse description The reverse displays the silhouette outline of Mozart's bust profile facing right, the interior field filled with finely engraved musical manuscript notation depicting multiple staves of handwritten score in high relief, evoking Mozart's autograph compositions. At the center right, the Chad national coat of arms appears in relief. Inscriptions arranged vertically along the right field read 'WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART' with the dates '1756–1791' above, while 'REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD', '2023', and '10000 FRANCS CFA' are inscribed in the lower right portion of the field. The overall design integrates the composer's silhouette shape with musical manuscript imagery in an artistic numismatic composition.

Additional information

The Bank of Central African States has a well-established pattern of issuing silver collector pieces bearing subjects entirely unconnected to Central Africa — Mozart being a routine example of the genre. These are minted for the international numismatic market, not for circulation in Cameroon, Chad, or any of the six BEAC member states. The coins are legal tender in name only, a designation that exists to satisfy the technical requirements of the collector coin trade.

Mozart died in Vienna in December 1791, aged 35, leaving his Requiem unfinished.
