The Bank of Central African States issues commemorative collector coinage well outside its day-to-day mandate of managing the CFA franc for six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo. These releases are produced under licensing arrangements with private minting houses in Europe, then sold directly into the international numismatic market.
