| Obverse description | A large ram-headed sphinx in high relief dominates the left portion of the field, depicted in recumbent posture with detailed striated headdress, evoking the sacred sphinxes of the Karnak temple avenue. To the right of the sphinx stands a smaller Egyptian deity figure holding an ankh symbol. A rectangular inset of genuine red jasper or sandstone occupies the centre-right, framed by an ornate Egyptian doorway surround decorated with winged solar disc and hieroglyphic cartouches. The national arms of Chad appear at lower left, with the date 2018 beneath.
