| Reverse description | A large circular cartographic vignette at left charts the scattered islands and islets of the French Southern Territories, with individual island names labelled, set against a pale blue guilloche ground; a brightly striped tropical fish occupies the lower centre. At right, a repeated numeral underprint in graduated orange tones fills the field alongside the Île Europa coat of arms, with a collector's disclaimer text block below it. |

Europa Island is an uninhabited French territory in the Mozambique Channel administered from Réunion as part of the Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises. It has no resident civilian population, no local economy, and no monetary system of its own — France's euro is the applicable currency for any actual transactions in the region. A 10 000 franc denomination issued from this territory in 2018 has no plausible circulation purpose and almost certainly belongs to the fantasy note category: produced speculatively for the collector market rather than under any genuine government mandate.
